These vacancies will enable me to develop my current skills and learn new skills along with providing me with experience which is valued by employers. In the future, I would like to have a career within the NHS, carrying out lab research. I am also hoping to complete a Masters and a PGCE in order to enhance chances of employment.

At present I am employed as an After School Club Assistant at Shoreside Primary School. My duties consist of setting up the room, preparing snacks, planning and implementing activities, engaging the children in activities, first aid duties, following health and safety policies, listening to parents/guardians and giving them feedback and tidying away.

I recently finished BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science (Forensic Science).

Sefton Buddy Up provides an opportunity for those who are aged between 13 – 16 years of age and have a range of physical, mental and learning disabilities to socialise and learn new skills. I have been mentor at Sefton Buddy Up, working with children that have physical, mental and learning disabilities. I planned and implemented activities such as arts/crafts and team games. I supported the mentees and ensure they enjoy their time at the social clubs. I welcome them in, engaging them in activities. I helped them as they learn life skills such as accessing transport and cooking which are needed to become an adult. The mentees grow in confidence, develop independence and are empower to achieve their goals. The coordinator, other mentors and I would set up the room following the health and safety policies. At the end of the session, I helped tidy up.

My voluntary work within a primary school involved me helping members of staff set up the classroom with activities. I carried out activities that the teacher required me to do. I organised and implemented my own activities and displayed and took down the children work. When I was on playground duties, I engaged children in a variety of physical activities. On school outings, I was an escort, in charge of 2/3 children.

I carried out voluntary work within a library. I prepared the room for activities, read books to the children and planned/implemented craft activities.

During my time at Elim Pre – School, Crèche and Holiday club, I helped to set up/tidy up, planned/implemented activities, prepared snacks and played/supervised the children.

I have completed the College of Policing General Awareness module, Disability Awareness course, general/pediatric first aid, Health Buddies course and have achieved silver Arts Award.

I am flexible, reliable and willing to undertake any training required in order for me to progress personally and professionally.
