Jessica, babysitter in Stockport

Hi. I'm Jess. I have always wished to work with children but I have never been in a position to do so due to financial commitments. My partner has recently had a promotion, which now gives me the opportunity to work toward my dream.

I have been working in a nursery as a trainee for almost a month, I am currently in the baby room, 0-2 years and it's great! The trainee position allows me to become level 2 qualified in childcare, I will be advancing to my level 3 also. I am currently working toward my first aid which had expired last year.

Before my recent change of career I was highly experienced in office based work, office management, accounts, business admin and customer service. Qualified up to a level 3 in most of above.

In the baby room we do a variety if activities such as, sensory area, this includes different textures, objects, colours, mirrors etc. Construction, trucks, lego, building blocks. Reading corner and much much more. I play and interact with the children daily, as well as, making snacks, dinners and tea. I observe the children and complete risk assessments. Clean and tidy. Change nappies, bottle feed and assistance with teaching children how to use falks, spoons, knifes correctly.

Over the past month the kids have found me very likeable and seem to love me. My managers have also said I am preforming exceptional well. They have allowed me to do the books, vip sheets on individuals and much more, which isn't very common for a trainee in their first month. I love to sit with the children and teach them new things, such as numbers, words maners, and about their environment.

Since the change, I have never been happier. I beleive children deserve the best start in life and I know I can contribute toward making that happen. Since working in the nursery I have done a vast amount of research to help me qualify quicker and get a better understanding of early years.

I am a very caring, outgoing and fun individual who has a genuine passion for children. I have patience, i am understanding, trustworthy and reliable.

As I currently work full time, my availability is limited. I'm free most evening and weekends.
