I have several years of volunteering experience with children with complex special needs and am a babysitter and French and Maths tutor to children aged 4-15. I am hoping to find work over the summer to save for university where I will be studying nursing this coming September. Working in both a special needs school and charity, I have been able to complete two specially designed seminars on Autism awareness. Tasks in these organisations included taking the children to activities like ice skating, the cinema, swimming and helping with feedings and music and light therapy sessions. Having had several years experience with these organisations I was given the role of leader and mentor to less experienced volunteers. In these roles, I have learnt the importance of patience and level-headedness in a crisis and, crucially, adaptability to a child's specific needs. I feel that to truly be a positive influence in a child's life and a capable caregiver we must recognise and respect each child's individuality. I have a Grade 8 in Speech and Drama with has instilled me with confidence and a love of drama and play.I am currently living in Paris, France as a live-in Au Pair. I am a caregiver and tutor to three children aged 6, 13 and 15.
