Molly, babysitter - M6 Salford

My name is Molly Burd and I am a psychology student currently on placement in Manchester.
Even though I am only 21 I have lots of experience looking after children of all different ages.
I have 2 younger siblings who I helped look after when we were growing up, I also have a very close relationship with my cousins and external family and have helped babysit many of the younger children since I was about 14.
During my last two years at secondary school I worked for a child psychologist looking after her 2 young children (15 months and 4 years). I built a very close relationship with both these children. My role included cooking for them, bathing them and putting them to bed some nights. I also was very active in taking them to the library, the park and for walks. I also helped with basic chores around the house (laundry, washing up, hoovering and the children's ironing).
I also have a lot of experience with older children. I was a cheerleading and dance coach for 4 years for children aged 6-12. I also tutor primary school age children ready for their 11+ exams and with home work help.
More recently I have held my own summer dance residential camps, where children come for the week to take part in different activities- the camps and very popular with both boys and girls.
On my gap year I volunteered in an orphanage in Cape Town, this was an amazing opportunity and also gave me a lot of experience looking after children of mixed ages.

I am a very enthusiastic student and really enjoy looking after and playing with children. I am comfortable looking after groups of children of any age.
I think it's really important children are exposed to different activities and would make every effort to find things to do with the child/children that suit them and match their interests. As mentioned I have a history coaching dance, but I also love playing football, reading and painting.
