Hello!

I’m caring, enthusiastic, reliable, flexible, patient, fun, outgoing and organised. This is always reflected in my work with children (hopefully often through lots of giggles!).

I’m a 24 year old gentle nanny looking to find a match with a family who have a baby or young children and need a helping hand on Mondays and Fridays. I take a very gentle approach to childcare, offering baby plenty of security, responding to their needs, respecting their needs and wants and allowing them to lead the way.

As a qualified nanny I am passionate about providing high quality care for families by using my knowledge, hands on experience and working alongside the government Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines, and Development Matters documents, to ensure that I am providing stimulating activities and environments to support baby’s holistic development.

I am looking to work with families with children within this age range, otherwise known as the ‘1001 critical days’, as this is known as the window of opportunity for parents and carers to provide the best care possible for baby during a critical time for brain development. My practice is based off up to date government guidelines, with a touch of Montessori and gentle care giving.

My practice is constantly being developed through the many baby focussed courses I do through Babyem; and most importantly is often child led as I do believe in providing a responsive and sensitive relationship for young babies, through to children. I am also keen to work alongside parents in a united partnership to ensure that we are all on the same page about techniques used to give baby the best possible start in life, setting them up for success in the future. I am happy to work alongside families who may opt for a more routine based technique, and am very open to altering my approach to any other strategies that parents may want to implement if I feel it offers baby the best and most suitable care.

I also pay great attention to the importance of providing children with secure attachment: through responding appropriately to their needs, offering opportunities for independence and providing support throughout transitions. This helps to optimise a child’s development and creates the base for successful and optimal learning both in the now and in the years to come. I love to encourage babies to play and explore through either child led play, developmentally appropriate activities based on baby’s interests or the outdoors.

As a qualified Maternity Nurse and Gentle Sleep Coach I have also been trained in offering plenty of support to parents; for example, in establishing secure attachment with their little one and establishing feeding routines. I would love to get more experience helping parents to learn about their little one’s sleep, and providing specialised techniques and advice that can promote baby a restful sleep.

I am qualified in Montessori education and maternity nursing, am a qualified Gentle Sleep Coach, have an up to date DBS check, and have paediatric first aid training. I have experience with newborns through to older children. As well as having experience with newborns, I also have experience working in a Montessori nursery for 2-5 year olds and with twins from newborns through to the age of two. I’ve been exposed to a whole range of age groups, environments and techniques of care.

With my 7 years of experience, I have been able to put into play my learning and specialised Montessori techniques. These include providing a calm and safe environment for the baby to be in, as well as focussing on stimulating baby with music, natural materials and objects, and sensorial materials also to help expose them to a variety of new noises, sensations, visualisations and textures. These will help baby to develop their fine motor skills, hand eye coordination and introduce them to rhythm and language.
