Shannon, babysitter in Plymouth

Hi there!

My name is Shannon, I'm 16, and currently studying in my first year of A-levels. I'm a fully qualified first aider thanks to my position as Leading Cadet at my local St John Ambulance Cadet Unit. In this position I'm required to supervise activities for a large group of children aged 9-18 years. As one of six children I also have experience caring for much younger children aged 4-13, some with behavioural difficulties. I was also previously employed for 2 years by a family friend to care for their newborn daughter and 3 year old son.

Aside from my experience I hope to go into nursing with children and any experience is invaluable to me.

I'm a friendly and outgoing person who enjoys the challenge of caring for children of varying ages. I'm punctual and organised due to the demands of my position as a full time student and I'm not afraid to get involved in the kinds of games and activities that I know children enjoy. Having so many younger siblings has given me a lot of ideas about how to keep children entertained and interested so preparing games and activities comes naturally to me.
