Katherine, babysitter - RG14 Newbury

My name is Katie. I have good experience with caring for children within my family, and out of it. I spent a year volunteering in a primary school once a fortnight, my responsibilities including engaging the children (8-10 year olds) in educational activities and supervising play time. I also have experience in babysitting my cousins (4 and 6) from the time when they were babies. I hold a GCSE in Health and Social Care and am expecting to begin a Level 3 Childcare and Education Course in September.

Apart from all the formalities, I care very deeply about the welfare of children, and nothing brightens up my day more than getting the chance to teach and care for them. I hope to one day become a Nursery teacher.

I have experience with art, and have worked at kids parties before as an entertainer and painting faces. I feel like one of the things I've enjoyed most while working with kids is doing arts and crafts with them. It makes me so proud to see children expressing themselves creatively. I've also had experience in mentoring older children (11-12) in developing reading skills in particular.

I greatly enjoy caring for and working with children, and am hoping to do it for the rest of my life. I feel like gaining further experience babysitting children of different ages can help me when it comes to beginning my course in a few months time.
