Hello, my name is Tabitha.
I am looking to care for children from the age of under 6 months to over 6 years of age, this would be occasional or part - time care. The type of experience I've had is looking after relatives children/ babies, professional care (babysitting in parents home), and nursery care. My qualities as a child carer is that I am patient, I think being patient is one of the most important skills for looking after children because I acknowledge that it takes time to build a bond with children. Also, that I would have to demonstrate care into the environment to do so. I think praising children when they have done something good, such as, eating dinner, behaving nicely, sharing toys etc. This is important because they should get attention when being well behaved so they can look forward to carry on with the good behaviour. Praises could be for example, watching a bit of TV (after homework- if they have any), playing games (board games or such).
I do not believe in showing frustration or anger to children as I acknowledge that they usually do not know better, therefore I can encourage ways to have positive behaviour and not encourage and praise bad behaviour, such as, tantrums or rude attitude.
I love to sing, play the piano (I am not an expert) and I feel that hobbies like this is very encouraging for positive behaviour and bonding because I feel that singing relieves a lot of stress and makes you feel happy as a person.
Thank you and it will be nice meeting you. :)
Occasional babysitting | $7.00 per hour |
I think £7 an hour is appropriate because I put a lot of effort and care into the work I do since I am passionate with working in a children's environment. I am working towards a nursing qualification.
