Hi :)
My name is Gemma, I'm 23 years old and live in Benfleet with my family while I finish my final year at university training to be a paediatric nurse.

I'm a fun, bubbly and approachable person who would look to form a trusting relationship with the whole family.
I've always loved working with children and like to ensure your child/children will have different activities to enjoy and keep them occupied throughout the day but also ensuring any daily routines you have for them are adhered to.

As a third year nursing student specialising in Children's Nursing I have a wide range of experience in childcare settings. As part of my course I have spent 10 months on four different wards in a specialist hospital in London, caring for patients from newborn - 18 years old.

I've had experience in a special needs school for Autism and ADHD assisting in classrooms with ages ranging between 3 and 15 years old. Here, I had the opportunity to learn basic PECS and Makaton.

I previously spent a year volunteering at a local Cubs group for children ages between 6-8 years old; here I assisted with the team leaders organising different games and group activities including sports and educational activities.

I spent a year gaining work experience one afternoon a week in a local primary classrooms including Key Stage 1 and 2; working alongside the teacher as an assistant.

I've spent two weeks in a nursery alongside the rest of the team providing care and support to toddlers aged 2-4 years old.

The experience I have gained through these activities would assist me in caring for your child/children ensuring their needs are met for their age range. I have an understanding of childhood development and different activities to suit different age groups which will help progress their social, cognitive, intellectual and emotional development.
