Kiera, babysitter in Stourbridge DY8

My name is Kiera. I have recently completed a college course in Health and Social care at Halesowen College. I also have some experience in childcare as I did some voluntary work in two different nurseries, where I was expected to look after children from new born to 5 years. At the first nursery it was my responsibility to care for children new born to 18 months through changing their nappies, bottle feeding, introducing solid foods and helping them to settle down for a nap. I was also expected to set up fun activities such as painting, drawing, exploring the garden and playing in the sand pit. The second nursery was entirely different due to the children being aged 2-5 years. It was here where I developed my communication skills in order to effectively communicate with young individuals. My main role in this setting was to engage in activities with the children and to start preparing them for school life by reading them stories, helping them to write basic words, such as their name and counting.
