Hello,
My name is Azra. I am 20 years old and a current second-year student at Warwick University. The type of care I am able to offer would be on a part-time basis as my educational studies are my priority. However, I am more than willing to not just care for the children and provide them with company and play with them but am also more than able to cook for them, help with homework and provide lifts to school activities or school if necessary, (have a UK driving license, and my own car). I have had plenty of experience with kids, this ranges from looking after my own cousins since young ages to voluntary work at a special needs secondary school and voluntary work abroad in developing countries. In particular, my work in Sri Lanka gave me invaluable hands-on experience working with children, including those with special needs and mental health disorders. It taught me how to be flexible and adaptable to each individual's needs whether they have special needs or not, and the importance of really understanding each child as an individual. My time in Sri Lanka also involved teaching English to classes of 30+, therefore this has given me the skills to work academically with children, having had experience of even preparing lesson plans and having the skills to explain difficult concepts to children using engaging and fun methods.
I believe my greatest qualities are that I am very patient and understanding as well as enthusiastic to help and assist whenever I am able to. Additionally, I am reading psychology so I have a key insight into the importance of meeting the demands of children in order for their own personal optimal development and growth.
