Hi my name is Amber ,
I am a hardworking and will always try my best to be the best at whatever I set out to do. I am very determined and take great pride in my work. I ensure that every task I undertake is completed on time when working to deadlines. I am a great team player that enjoys learning from others, as well as a great team leader when given the opportunity to lead teams. I am a reliable, punctual and presentable person that is very easy to get on with.
I am currently working towards my Childcare qualification in college which would be the CACHE level 3 extended diploma in Childcare, learning and development. I will achieve the first part of this qualification in June. I have a two day placement working with children in a local primary school where I support the children with their learning.
I worked as a children's activity leader for the BCBC summer play scheme. I worked as part of a team to create a happy, creative and safe environment for the children to come and participate in the games and activities we did. I would set up different games and activities in different parts of the hall such as we had a arts and craft area, a ball area for football or basket ball and a cricket area too. i would encourage children in taking part in play whether that was by leading the game, taking part myself or by giving praise to the children.
I learnt a lot while doing this job and it was the best 4 weeks in years. It made me realize how I would like to work with children in a supportive role. So instead of taking my place at Swansea university i joined the CACHE level 3 Extended Diploma in children's care, Learning and Development at Bridgend College. It is a 2 year course I am taking to become qualified to work with children such as to go into a nursery setting.
I have always been around children as when I was in my teens I spent a lot of time at my friends who mother was a childminder and I would help out and go out on trips such as to Margan park or
Amelia trust farm.
I have experience in working in a home setting as when i worked as a support worker with Steddy LTD. My job role entails helping assist and elderly couple with daily activities such as dressing and washing. Prepare and cook meals as well as make teas and coffees as well as assist and prompt with oral medication. I love this role as I am helping people and making a difference to their lives.
Growing up i was apart I also was a member of the Porthcawl Surf Lifesaving Club for 9 years. During my time I've been able to achieve my junior lifesaving and Bronze Medallion awards in lifesaving. The club has been a big part of life when I was younger
and I learnt of many different skills while taking up my hobbies of swimming, running and surfing. I helped a lot with
volunteering with the different events we had such as water rescue cover, helping with teas and coffees. I volunteered
to help the professional lifeguards patrol the beach such as joining on foot patrols, communication through radios,
completing risk assessments and learning of the first aid equipment.
Occasional babysitting | $6.50 per hour |
I'm not to bothered about the rate of pay as it would be gaining experiences of looking after the children.
