I am a 16 year old girl named Alice, i have recently completed year 11 and my gcses and as of September 2017 i will be studying at Sixth form for two years, i will be available evenings, after school hours, weekends and school holidays.
I have baby sat two children (aged 5 and 12) for my neighbour in the previous years for a couple hours at night when the parents were out, in this role I ensure the children are safe, I also perform stimulating activities such as playing board games or playing outside, I prepare food and drinks for the children and ensure they are well nourished until their parents arrive home.
I also walk the two cockapoos (Coker spaniel crossed with poodle) which are very hyper and excited. I must take them for a thirty-minute walk; pick up their poo; ensure there are no thorns in their fur afterwards; I also bathe the dogs if they get muddy and I give the dogs food and water before I leave.
In 2013 I volunteered at a nursery for a few weeks.
At the nursery, I was tasked by caring for the children by doing things such as; ensuring they were well nourished; reading to them; joining in with group activities such as nursery rhymes; encouraging good manners and behaviour through playing with others; and performing stimulating activities for everyone to take part in such as dressing up. I had to pay clear attention to each child individually to make sure they were safe and not in danger. I also completed tasks given by the manager such as printing and filing important documents.
