Josephine, babysitting - DD1 Dundee

Dear Family,

my name is Josephine , I am a full-time student at Dundee University studying BSc Environmental Science in my first year.
I am 19 years old and from Germany, but moved to Dundee last September for University and have been really enjoying my course and this city.

I consider myself an open and cheerful person and really enjoy giving others an helping hand.
During my gap year between High School and University, I worked for 3 months in a family-friendly all inclusive hotel on Crete, Greece where I was the tennis hostess and animator. Some of my work included organising the children tennis championships, taking care of them while parents played, eating all three meals during the day with guests and showing presence/ taking action in events throughout the day and evening program.
Afterwards I moved to Cape Town, ZA for an intership with a tree-planting NGO to gain more experience in the field that I study now and I want to work in later. We planted mostly trees with schools or communities in the townships and always emphasised on having fun while caring for the earth and for each other. When we didn't plant trees, I would be responsible for staying in touch with our beneficiaries and monitor their progress and potentially help in setting up an eco-club.

I have loved children all my life, possibly because I have a younger brother whom I am very close to and a 7-year old niece, but also because I used to be a member of church, choir and local youth groups. When I was old enough, I got to become one of the "leaders" in thus, and organised events, trips and lots of games for the group. While I might not have a certificate in child care or babysitting, I have a head full of game ideas. :-)
