Alex, babysitting in Hove BN3

Hi!

My name is Alexandra, but I usually go by Alex. I'm 21 years old and live in Los Angeles between September and May as I am studying philosophy at university there. During the summer I return to my home, England, to spend time with my family.

I have three younger siblings ranging from 3 years old to 12, and therefore have loads and loads of first-hand daily experience looking after children. Furthermore, I have been babysitting professionally since I was 15, so have professional experience also.

For three years I also did voluntary work every Sunday at a charity called KEEN that specialises in providing free sports-based childcare for children with both severe and less severe disabilities in order to give their parents a helping hand. This has given me formal experience and education on how to look after children with disabilities, from doing hourly diabetic blood tests to caring for autistic seizures. KEEN has also provided me with a CRN check which verifies I have a clear criminal record.

Professionally, I have babysitted for many types of families, from large families such as one of four raucous 5-11 year old boys (a handful, to say the least) to shy only children. I've been challenged and have learned as a result, and carry these lessons with me to every new job. I have babysitted during whole days, running errands such as haircuts and food shopping, and during whole nights, soothing scary nightmare woes. Whatever your need, its covered, I've probably already done it and if not I'm definitely willing to use my experience to try my best.

Also, my mother is Spanish and so I am bilingual in English and Spanish since I was a child. Therefore, if you are a family of Spanish speakers or your child is learning Spanish, I can be of great help.

Most of all, what I want you to know is that I simply love children. I love playing and teaching them, as well as just listening to their funny and quirky ways of looking at the world. I promise you that when I am babysitting any child I have their best interest at heart and always act with that in mind. I know that kindness should be the default however that also during those inevitable moments (or long stretches!) of naughtiness, that sometimes a firm word is needed. I assure you that if you leave your child/children with me they're in good hands and I'll care for them as if they were my own.
