I have had various work experience, ranging from assisting at a primary school to working a bar (with a till) at Bingley Music Live Festival. I have also had work experience in the marketing industry which involved writing an article which was later published in a local newspaper. I have also carried out administration duties relating to quotation preparation, invoicing etc. for Speaks Hire Ltd, a construction based company in Holmfield. Less frequently, I have face painted, working events such as my secondary school’s annual fundraiser and the renovation reveal at The Malt Shovel in Bingley. A majority of these roles involved working with and looking after children which I really enjoyed doing - I believe they aided my ability to successfully entertain and look after multiple children at once.
I completed my bronze Duke of Edinburgh which largely built on my ability to work as a team. I also really enjoy playing netball. I played for my school for nine years and played for the official Bradford District team three years ago. In sixth form, I played for the senior first team and we trialled for Yorkshire at the end of 2013 however, despite getting far, we didn’t win the title. In light of our defeat, I became increasingly perseverant. I intend to stick with netball through university because I enjoy working as a team as well as purely enjoying the sport. On top of this, I used to run for school in fell and cross country races but now I mainly run regularly just for exercise. I also attended Stardom School of Performing Arts, there, I sang, danced tap, jazz and modern and performed in the Shelf Gala in 2010. Additionally, at school, during my last two years, I was lucky enough to win the year 13 (won a year ahead when I was in year 12) prize for English Language and Literature.
I believe that I would be a good childcarer as not only have I had experience with family members such as cousins however I have also looked after non-relatives. I am a bubbly character with energy and stamina and I would really like the opportunity to babysit as I really get along with children and I believe it's great practice for when I would like to have children of my own one day.
