Hi! My name is Abbie.
I'm currently studying A Levels and looking for some extra work, and babysitting seems like the perfect fit for me. My availability is limited to evenings during weekdays, but during the weekends I'm free to help while parents have a rare night out. I understand the hesitation being that I'm younger than most childminders, but I can assure you that I am a very sensible and mature person and willing to put in all my efforts to make sure any children in my care are well looked after. The age range I would work best with is 14 and younger, being still a teenager myself.
I have lots of experience looking after children in my family from ages 0-14, but as well as this I volunteered in a nursery working with 0-4 year olds from September 2015 to May this year. In this 'job' I had typical care duties: entertaining and educating the children about the world around them, preparing and serving food, and maintaining a stimulating (and clean) environment.
As far as education goes, I can offer Spanish and French to an intermediate level if you feel you would like your child(ren) to have the skill of speaking in more than one language. I am a native English speaker but I'm currently studying these languages at A-Level standard. At GCSE I achieved 8 A*s and 3 As, so I'm more than happy to help with homework, school projects and the like- or even offer tutoring at no extra cost. I would also be more than willing to offer lessons in guitar, should you want that. I believe babysitters should not just be there to mind children, rather help them grow into the rounded and respectable human beings that they all have the capacity to become.
I am prepared to do any work around the house that you may require- be that cooking, cleaning, or anything else of that nature. As for looking after babies, I can change nappies, prepare bottles, and tidy up when things get messy. I promise I will follow any rules you set and be respectful to your home and, most importantly, your children.
I fully understand that there may be worries about lack of childcare qualifications, but I am sure my experience is a solid enough basis to tackle jobs such as this. In the future I plan on taking courses in first aid to be fully secure I can take care of children no matter what happens, but to make you feel slightly better I do have some experience with first aid having worked at a local football club where minor injuries are common.
Anyway, if you've read this far then thank you. I may or may not be what you're looking for at this moment in time- if not, I wish you the best of luck in finding the right person!
Occasional babysitting | $7.00 per hour |
I charge a fairly standard rate as I understand parents have a hard enough time leaving their children alone with a near stranger without having to fork out huge amounts of money in order to make it happen.
