I am Keilah, an 18 year-old babysitter and teaching assistant from Newport who loves children and want to make caring for them part of my life for as long as I live. I have a younger sibling I took care of a lot growing up, and supporting children to develop safely is my pleasure. I am very patient, kind, reliable, understanding and loving, and I am always using feedback to make my practice better and better. I am always on time, have good problem solving skills and work well under pressure.
Some of my hobbies include swimming, reading, drawing, babysitting and dancing.
I have experience with children age 0-3 months, 3-12 months, and toddlers 1-5. I have also cared for children up to the age 7 in a classroom environment. I have a little experience with special needs, as I volunteered with Sparkle Children’s Charity working with children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) especially ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) including mute children. I work best with little ones under 5, but I am willing to adapt to different communication styles and behaviours.
I have a level 3 emergency first aid certificate, level 2 food hygiene, two enhanced DBS checks including a child DBS on the update service, and a child safeguarding certificate.
I am available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays all day and the weekends. I’d love to have a discussion to see if I’d be the right help for you and your family. :)
