Lauren, babysitting - PA16 Greenock

My name is Lauren and I am interested in babysitting or part time child care work. I have previous experience as a summer play leader at Boglestone Community Centre for 4 weeks over summer. My role was to ensure the children, aged 5-12, were safe and had fun while attending the Playscheme. Myself and other play leaders played games with the children such as ‘sharks and fishes’ or ‘splat.’ We also done arts and crafts with them such as, colouring in or painting and making biscuits and jewellery. To make the 4 weeks more interesting we organised other events for them such as a talent show and a badminton tournament as well as a trip away to Heads of Ayr farm park. I also volunteered at Paragon Music with the Play On programme helping young children with learning difficulties to play and create music. My main role was to help with the junior group. I helped each of the juniors individually create pieces of music with different instruments. I taught them different drumming rhythms when working in a group and helped some of them with their singing. I also had to prepare for each session at Play On in order to connect and communicate with the juniors and help them with their pieces of music.
