Sophie, babysitting in Scotland

Hi there my name is Sophie an 18 year old veterinary student living in Edinburgh. I am looking for child care jobs preferably during weekends and/evenings. During my time at high school I babysat a few children from ages 1-13 years old, helping with homework, music and games and cooked for them every evening. Being the eldest of thirteen cousins I am experienced in providing entertainment to a wide range of children.

As a young leader with Girl Guiding Scotland I have worked with a number of great young girls including the autistic and dyslexic. I have organised activities with the girls and taught them the importance of guiding. My experience with children is also shown with my past employment. As a stable hand at my local horse riding stables I look young children aged 3-8 on pony rides making sure they were safe and enjoying themselves. As well as this I have taught young children to ride with an approachable attitude and giving compliments to keep them motivated as well as constructive criticism to help them improve and learn. Finally I was lucky enough to babysit two older children (aged 9 and 13) at the end of summer last year, where I aced my cooking skills and not to mention video games. I was able to help the older secondary school child with his science homework and the younger girl with her maths work and history project at primary school.

Overall I am a responsible individual with a love for children. I am always willing to lend a hand and support young kids, helping them to succeed and also have fun.
