Laura, child care in East kilbride

Hi my name is Laura Cree. I am currently studying HNC early education and childcare at South Lanarkshire College, which I am throughly enjoying. I have a two day placement at a primary school working in the Primary 2 and 4 class. My duties include helping the teacher in the classroom by marking the children's work, supporting the children if they are stuck on their work. I go out in the play ground at play time and lunch time, keeping an eye on them to make sure they are ok. I also play games with the children such as tig. As part of my course I got a qualification in first aid which means I have good knowledge of the procedures required if someone gets injured. I am looking for a babysitting job and I can do various hours including weekends. My qualities as a childcare provider include being kind and understanding, having a positive attitude. I am very passionate about working with children as its what I want to do as a career. I plan on going to university next year to study primary teaching I believe I am creative and can think of fun activities to do with the children. As part of my course I need to complete 60 various activities with the children. This means I have plenty practise and many resources that I can play with the children. For example games such as dominoes. I also have a lot of practise with drawing and colouring in activities as most of the children in the classes enjoy this. I also have practise helping and supporting them with their learning, meaning that I am capaiable of helping your children with their homework. Iove reading and would enjoy reading books with your children, I am happy and comfortable to work with a wide range of ages as I have had experience with various age groups.
