Hi I'm Hannah, I live in Rainford with my parents and my brother. I am 17 years old (I turn 18 next week) and I am going into my 3rd year of college. I study BTEC Level 3 health and social care. This course allows me to enter a placement. My first placement was at a nursery in my local area. I worked with toddlers up to pre-school. Some of the responsibilities I had was to change nappies, feed children, take part in various activities with children. For example: read with the toddlers or carry out an art activity with pre-school. I have also assessed the abilities of fine and gross motor skills of children.
My second placement was at a primary school working with year 1 and 2 children. I have carried out many activities with the pupils from reading assessments to sporting activities during lunchtime and PE. When working with the children during lesson I helped them with subjects such as maths and English, and also science. I also regularly babysit for friends of the family with an age rage of 6-14.
I am compassionate, caring and I use my initiative well. I think it highly important that children are empowered and listened to. I am trustworthy, kind, flexible and I am always there to help. As I want to be a primary school teacher, I think that inspiring children to be the best they can be is so important.
