Aimee Mika, childcare - AB30 Fettercairn

I am 20 years old and currently doing a Certificate of higher Education in Health Sciences through the Open University. I also have a part time job at the Clatterin Brig Restaurant as an assistant chef.

I am wanting to do caring work not only as a stepping stone towards my degree but because I do love to work with children. I am the youngest of 4 children myself. I am looking for part time care work mostly during the week, weekends are flexible or evening babysitting, where I can learn more about children and caring as well as helping children grow and have fun in a safe environment.

I have done volunteer work with children with learning disabilities at church holiday clubs, a school for children with down's syndrome and I worked on the Isle of Iona as a kitchen assistant and a child care-giver to a 9 year old girl.

I am able to create a safe, stimulating environment for young children allowing them to learn and develop social interaction skills, whilst being able to communicate with parents about activities and behaviour.

I played hockey and did horse riding in school, I love outdoor activities and arts and crafts.
