Scott, childcare in Aberdeen AB10

Hi, my name is Scott, I am 23 years old and I'm currently working as a Childcare Support Worker within Aberdeen Children Services I am looking to do babysitting on the side of my regular job.

I moved to Abrdeen from Fife in September 2015. I have previous babysitting experience through babysitting young family members. My hobbies include travelling, cinema and photography.

I have many years experience working with children and young people of all ages. Before moving to Aberdeen I was part of the Boys Brigade, as part of this I worked mainly with primary school aged children between 5 and 8 years old, I was in this role for about 8 years. This role involved planning/delivering games and activities, liaising with parents and other administrative and safety aspects also.

I also have experience working with children and young adults with multiple additional support needs. I volunteered for just under 2 years with an organisation that works with adults with additional support needs. This role involved me supporting the service user, helping teach them various life skills, escorting them on outings, preparing snacks, liaising with other staff and external agencies.

I also worked at a playscheme for children and young adults with additional support needs as a Support Worker during July/August 2015. This role involved me participating in activities with the service user, escorting them on outings, supporting them to interact in activities, socialise with others etc.

I have a Professional Development Award (PDA) in Youth Work. I also have many years on-the-job experience working with children and young people with and without additional support needs. I am also fully PVG checked.
