I have executed variety of different roles and responsibilities when it comes to the childcare and health and social care sector, from working in a nursery to babysitting children from toddlers, pre – schoolers to early teenagers alongside, mentoring the youth. From 2014 till now, I have attained new skills and experiences from looking after children and young individuals, it had been beneficial for me, considering that, it allowed me to reach more further in understanding children and teenagers. Working in this sector is advantageous, seeing as, one of my aspirations is to become a psychologist or cognitive behavioural therapist for children and young people.

The skills and abilities I have achieved from doing years of babysitting, is being organised and prepared as many situations when dealing with children are unexpected. Having socialisation skills - this is beneficial for the reason that, it allows me to be openly expressive when talking, this will give children and young individuals the ability to trust me, to depend on me, and to be comfortable with me. For me, this is important as in my opinion, maintaining a relationships with children is significant in order, to progress.

Having great flexibility enables me, to move around effectively as well as, efficiently. Furthermore, being asssertive and using initiative is fundamental when working within childcare or health and social care sector, in the account of, being confident wiht the choices you make, being self - assured and secure with doing acitivities that needed to be completed and ensuring, the ability to make good decisions for children when it comes to safeguarding and safety issues.

Moreover, being calm, collected and composed is immensely essential. When working with children or young people, they require patience, understanding, empathy and kindness. There will be and are numberous situations that occur where, the clients are going to be in situations that are emotionally challenging such as: when crying or being angry. When dealing with those kind of circumstances, obtaining abilities where you are patient and composed is key considering that, when aggravated they will become more irractic, lose focus and the relationship between the client and employee with be strained therefore, detachment, lack of communication skills and they will not be openly expressive with their emotions.
