While working in as an Early Years Educator my role included:
• Developing positive relationships with different families and children • Observing and tracking individual children's learning as observing group learning interests • Creating positive relationships with families, through feedback to parents on their children's day and at parents meetings. • Planning, implementing and evaluating activities with children and staff in accordance to the curriculum for excellence and aspects of the pre birth to three document. • Supporting children with their development needs and milestones through different activities. • Working with children with additional support needs/challenging behaviour • Using frameworks in my daily practice such as SHANARRI and GIRFEC to monitor children. • Daily observations and recording of each child's progress through learning journals. • Welcoming children and families into the building. • Setting up learning opportunities and activities to challenge and interest the children. • Working with children from age range 3-5, developed knowledge around preschool education as well as using the pre birth to three document to aid transitions and younger children. • Covered in other nursery rooms giving some experience with children age ranged between 0-3years. • Working with other professionals in and out with my setting • Working with children with additional needs/behavioural problems as well as children with special medical needs. • Working with children with additional language, developing English as their second language. • Completing appropriate paperwork for each individual child e.g. GIRFEC, Reflection Points, Learning Journals and Summative Reports. • Working as part of a team with other educators in my workplace. • Creating and preparing breakfast/snacks/lunches • Attending a range of training to further develop my own skills and learning, as well as to reflect on my own practices.
