Hello my name is Lindsay,
I am a mother to my four year old son who is my whole world. I have a qualification as a registered general nurse for adults, however I am now seeking a career change and wishing to return to working with young children (up to the age of 16 years). I have worked in a day nursery previously prior to changing career, and have a Diploma in Child care and education level 3.
Although I have not worked with children for a few years now in a formal setting, I have looked after family members and my son which has given me plenty of experience and an insight into childcare.
On a weekly basis I take my son to a swimming lesson as well as football practice, and understand the importance of these. He has just started full time school so I do spend a lot of time doing homework tasks with his such as reading, writing, playing games etc. I am more than willing to carry out these tasks within my daily job roles, ensuring that this is targeted at the child's age and developmental stage.
Whenever I can I like to ensure that my own child has opportunities to further his development and try to provide activities and experiences in which he can do this, for example socialising with other children, regular exercise by going to the park, going to farms, museums, shopping etc.
I am a confident hard working individual who is hoping that someone can give me the chance to return to working with children, something which I feel very passionate about.
