Fern, childcare in Broadstairs

HELLO!

My name is Fern, I am 21 years old and I have recently graduated from my Bachelors Honours Degree in Musical Theatre! After studying for as long as I have in this subject, I have realised that I would love to pursue my career with teaching performing arts to children. So now that I've finished University, I have started volunteering at St Peters School with the Drama Teacher, assisting in teaching children from ages 6-11. It is such a huge passion of mine to help children to achieve their goals and get to where they want to be. I also teach singing to under 13s from time to time at Salute Performing Arts Academy and Agency.

Since I was 8 years old, my parents have been Foster Carers and have specialised in fostering children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I don't remember what it's like to not have foster children in the house, but it is something that I have grown up to love. If anything, having these children about has helped to boost my confidence with looking after children and I feel I have gain such a massive amount of responsibility from it also. I am extremely good at handling a bad temper and any negative emotion from the experience.

As a person, I am extremely friendly and approachable. If I need to be strict, I am able to do so in a calm and collective manner; and because I want to work with kids, I feel that this is the ideal job for me because I know that I have the passion to enjoy it and take care of the children, make it a fun experience for them and at the same time, build up even more confidence and gain more experience for myself for when it comes to understanding a childs needs.
