Chloe, childcare - BT47 Londonderry

I have been inspired to study Early Childhood Studies at Liverpool university and finish first year there in two weeks time. when I was 16 years old I had the opportunity to do my work experience at Belmont Nursery which is a special needs school. Out of nowhere I fitted in, where the childcare practitioner‘s put me in charge and responsible in a group interaction with the children. I found myself thrown in the deep end, where I believed the childcare practitioners had faith in me as a young student that I could possibly be in their shoes. I observed their role as childcare practitioners, supporting the development of vulnerable children where their abilities were valued and stimulated. This experience confirmed my choice of career path that has assisted me to understand the theories, values and policies that underpin the approach of working with children in real life situations.

For GCSE I have achieved CACHE certificate Level 2 in Childcare and Education, this is a equivalent to three GSCE’S and in result I have accomplish a grade A as well as Child Development a grade B. I enjoyed learning and extending my knowledge of children and their development.

I studied at North West Regional College and completed my National Diploma Level 3 Children’s Care Learning and Development; I've also completed 800 hours of placement in different childcare settings such as creche, nursery, primary and special needs school settings.

I’ve always had this passion to be involved with children. When I’m in the company I feel happy and comfortable. I know where my passion lies, is something I want to express, take in and explore more to make real, positive changes for children. I feel rewarded and thankful when I get an opportunity working with children.
