Hi!
I am 29 years old and keen on becoming a nanny as I’m a passionate, patient and nurturing individual and I feel these are great qualities to possess when dealing with children and families. I have been living in Australia the past three years, where I have seen the most beautiful sights and even experienced the childcare industry over there. Prior to that I worked in the childcare industry in Derry from 2011. I’m now permanently living in Derry and the nanny route is one that I want to go down.
I have a degree in Education Studies and Early Years from Liverpool John Moores, which I have used to progress through several childcare roles. I worked from 2011-2014 in a day nursery as a toddler room supervisor, therefore I have vast experience with this age group, developing stimulating activities, toilet training and behaviour management/ emotion coaching. This role of the toddler room supervisor was one that I carried on in my work life in Australia, where I was the lead educator of a toddler room with 25 children. This was my job role from 2014-2015, where I was then promoted to lead educator/ floor manager of the 3-5 program, overseeing both toddler programs, as well as a pre-school program. This position allowed me to be very versatile in my teaching methods and abilities in having to cater to a vast age group with varying abilities.
