During my work experience I assisted a year 5 class in a local primary school and instantly found I was naturally suited to working with children. Working with a range of ages throughout my experience, starting from new born to children aged 9, gave me the relevant experience I needed to excel in working and developing positive relationships with children. I strictly follow the policies and procedures of the setting at all times to show my understanding of how important these are. During my time working in a private nursery, I learnt the importance of the EYFS and the benefits of learning and developing through the appropriate play and care plans. Experience outside of work has also added an extra passion for working with children. Regular babysitting for a family friend’s three year old daughter, and my cousins aged 7 months and 2 years old shows I can be trusted and relied upon to care and be responsible for them. I have received many compliments from different practitioners on my professionalism when working with children. Throughout my learning I found myself to become a confident child carer who has a great interest in children and their learning and development, as well as being emotionally mature and keen to develop in my career.
Being an outgoing person, I am very confident, well-mannered and keen to develop a close bond with both child and their family. Understanding the importance of common courtesy, I always dress appropriately, speak in the correct manner and have good management of time keeping and organization. Being a reliable person, I have found myself regularly being trusted to carry out various tasks and responsibilities when caring for children. My positive learning attitude keeps me constantly keen to learn new skills and develop my knowledge on working with children. I hold a full clean UK driving license therefore I am not dependent on public transport as I have my own vehicle. I am also fully CRB checked to work with children.
