Kelly, childcare - DL3 Darlington

My name is Kelly.
I am a young adult who has been involved with working with children for a long time. I babysit a lot for family members and for other people who know me and I thoroughly enjoy looking after children. I am part of a local dance company where children age from 2 and I help them a lot especially through dance practise. I help my dance teacher by getting the children prepared for a show, ensuring that they are where they need to be, ensure they are on stage at the correct time whilst looking after myself etc. I feel as though the children look up to me at dancing which is quite nice.

I used to volunteer for a company before I got the job there this year. I work for Groundwork North East and Cumbria which is about changing places and lives. I am a sessional play worker and work with a variety of children aged from 3-12 including those who are disabled. My job role is to promote play sessions in communities where there really isn't much happening so children are given the chance to be themselves and make friends etc. I love my job very much and I strive from this.

Many people look for people with health and social degrees from college but I didn't take this route so I am hoping this wont put people off. I have many qualities which I would deem essential. I am very reliable, honest and trustworthy which I have to be anyway due to my other job. I can adapt quickly and im always punctual. I am approachable which I know is essential when it comes to children I want them to feel comfortable around me. in order to do this sometimes I just talk to them, play a few games so they can open up. I have a sense of humour and don't mind being a little silly, children like that. However, I can be sensible and if people need something doing whilst they are busy I don't mind cleaning, cooking or anything like that.
