Following my graduation from University I was employed in a Children’s Centre as an Early Years Lead Professional for three years.
My role was extremely rewarding, giving opportunity to promote my leadership skills - offer support to students on placement - take lead responsibility when working alongside colleagues.
The Children’s Centre gave excellent understanding of working in partnership with individual and multi-disciplinary teams as well as partnership with parents - I was involved in team meetings and moving practice forward.
I was Key Person to 11 children – my role was to observe, assess and plan for individual and groups of children as well as liaise regularly with parents about their child’s progress.
I complete tracking to contribute to future planning for my Key Children. Following previous training on Tracking I was asked to produce data to show patterns and trends that would help identify future practice for all.
I value and respect the voice of the child - I am aware the importance of a balance of adult led and child initiated activities.
I would welcome the opportunity to use my expertise in drama, to provide extra curriculum activities in this area - building self-esteem and confidence.
I have good understanding and experience of working in the best interest of children with additional needs - liaising with SENDO, Parents and Carers.
I am the SENDO Coordinator in my current setting.
In 2015 I was responsible for guiding Ofsted around my early years setting – promoting a positive impression of the work we do.
I have good experience working alongside teachers, organizing and creating a smooth transition from early years to school – jointly planning for key events.
In 2012 I was given the opportunity to lead an Action For Children research project on sustained shared thinking in the outdoor environment, collecting and analyzing data through observations and questionnaires. I presented my finding to the EYFS Network Group, Practitioners and Mangers of other settings.
In addition to the above I was given the opportunity to present my finding to a group of students in Liverpool University - in return they were given opportunity to ask me questions about my findings and leading practice in the outdoor environment.
My passion for the outdoors and this project inspired my team to continue developing ideas, having a positive impact on practice in the outdoor environment - I completed a day’s training on ‘Forest Schools’ as part of my continuing professional development.
I am enthusiastic in my zest to continue to develop and learn in my practice, sharing new developments with my team, students and parents.
I am physically strong - enthusiastic in my ability to prepare resources for the children both indoors and outside.
ICT is part of one of the specific areas of a child’s understanding of the world. I have taken many opportunities to implement the use of ICT within my setting both indoors and out.
I have found ICT a particularly useful resource when it includes an interactive aspect where children can take part and use the ICT to develop their learning.
I hold a Pediatrician First Aid Training Certificate.
I have a current clean Driving License.
From this, I very much hope I can be considered for a nanny post.
