Lucy, childcare in Aberdeen

I have had a lot of childcare experience. I have babysat regularly since the age of 15. During the summer of 2013 I worked at Gullane Summer Club as a Playscheme Leader, whereupon my duties were entertaining children, food handling,
having responsibility for 10+ children in city centres, public transport and in open spaces, being enthusiastic, creative and imaginative and adhering to child safety policies and procedures.

From May until August 2014 Iworked as a Camp Counsellor at a USA children’s summer camp for underprivileged children whereupon I was responsible for the wellbeing and safety for up to eight six and seven year olds both during the day and night time. This included getting them ready in the morning, supervising mealtimes, dealing with homesick/upset children, forming strong relationships with the children and dealing with basic first aid. I feel that this childcare experience was invaluable and allowed me to experience situations whereupon I was outside my comfort zone and help change the lives of underprivileged children.

I am a mature, fun, caring and honest 19 year old and I am currently studying Applied Social Sciences at Robert Gordon University (2nd year). My hobbies include netball, running and reading.
