My name is Vicky, and I'm 27 years old. I studied early education and childcare at college (HNC) and then went on to work in a privately run nursery for over a year. I absolutely loved working with the kids and their parents - no two days were the same! What made it especially rewarding for me was watching the children grow and develop. I started off working with the 2-3 age group, but moved up to the 3-5 age group at the same time the younger children I had worked with were stepping up to the next class. This was perfect for me as I had developed a great bond with the children and I loved being part of their development. After working in the nursery I decided I wanted to pursue a career in the customer service industry. I started off as a waitress and within 5 years I worked my way up to the position of Food & Beverage manager. I feel like I have peaked in my career within the hospitality industry and would love to start working with kids again. Although I have not worked in a nursery environment for a few years, I regularly babysit for my friends who have young children aged between 6 months and 3 years. It's something I genuinely look forward to!
I'm a very honest person and I wear my heart on my sleeve. I always strive to push myself and do my best at anything. At the moment I am looking to step away from the pressures of hospitality management and get back to a career that I can truly enjoy and I feel like this is the right move for me. I would love the opportunity to use my skills as a a childcare again!
