I'm Rachael, a 20 year old English Literature student at Durham University. I'm currently working as a Marketing Intern in Exeter Monday to Friday and so am looking for evening and weekend positions. I'm a qualified Rainbow (5-7 year old) and Guide (10-14 year old) leader and have a first aid certificate as well as a clear extended DBS check. In this role, I have taken on additional responsibilities; I have a holiday license and have been the leader in charge at various residential events with up to 10 five to thirteen year olds present, as well as having basic qualifications in Child Safeguarding and Peer Education. As a Rainbow and Guide leader, I have a lot of experience running crafts, games and sports, as well as thinking on my feet! I have also coordinated a charity project for children with severe learning difficulties so have experience leading activities for children with SEN.
I have a fair bit of experience in an educational setting, I've volunteered as a primary teaching assistant and tutored GCSE Maths for an academic year. I have a place to teach Secondary English on the 2017 Teach First programme following my graduation.
I really like cooking and am the President of my University's Baking Society so would also feel confident cooking for the kids if necessary or engaging them in baking activities. I'm physically fit and have lots of energy so would be really excited to get involved however I can!
