Caring for children has always been a passion of mine and a career in working with children and their families fits that desire perfectly. I consider myself to have a caring compassionate nature which I think is an important quality to have when caring for children and their families.
I have the ability to communicate with people of all different backgrounds and ages. I have developed this during my experience in working in the childcare sector and providing 1:1 to a child with special educational needs in previous employment.
This allowed me to gain knowledge of various disabilities and learn strategies of how to support children with additional needs. I am very keen to work hard and respectful to others. I'm responsible and pride myself on being a very trustworthy and organised person and committed to helping others.
I am currently Room Leader of the pre-school room at Appletree Day Nursery, this has enabled me to develop a wide range of skills including leadership and management of staff. My current studies have inspired and fed by ambitions.
I have completed my second year at university and aim to gain a full BA honours degree in Early Childhood Education whilst studying every Monday evening from 4pm in September at the University Trinity St. David Wales. By gaining my level 4 and 5 it has allowed me to develop a wide range of new skills relating to planning and preparation within the Foundation Phase.
I have also enhanced my knowledge of child development theory and current practice such as the Literacy and Numeracy Framework. My goal is to continue to further my career prospects by sharing my enthusiasm for learning with young minds and help them reach their full potential. Also supporting families throughout this process.
