Samantha, childcare in Mayfield

My name is Samantha and I am 21 years old. I have around four years experience working professionally within a nursery environment and many more years caring for other children through babysitting, volunteering and from being the eldest of a rather large family.
My job required me to follow the daily routines of the children and cater for and respect their individual needs. As well as their daily routines I would be required to complete daily cleaning rota's and cook, prepare and serve meals for the children. I have been Key Carer for a number of children over the years and would need to keep the creative juices flowing by planning and carrying out activities for the weeks ahead, as well as on the spot depending on the Children's interests on the day.
From my experiences, I understand the importance of a loving, caring and fun filled environment and having worked with small and personal nurseries and families, I have had the fantastic opportunity to build wonderfully positive and close relationships with all kinds of people. I take great pride in my line of work and believe it's so, so important for children to have a positive relationship with their carers. I would like to think of myself as a caring, warm, friendly and creative individual with a very open mind.
As well as having my qualifications in Children's Care, Learning and Development (SVQ, Level 3), I have also had many opportunities to gain extra skills over the years. I have attained my Baby and Child First Aid and Food Hygiene Level 2 Food Safety certificates.
I have also attended Autism Awareness classes and have had training in Befriending, Building Relationships, Confidentiality, Child Protection, Attitudes and Values, Attachment and Child Planning. My time working with extra-curricular activities such as Sing and Sign has allowed me to pick up some basic Sign Language also.
I am currently beginning my studies of Psychology and Counselling with the Open University and am hopefully looking for Part-Time or Baby Sitting work with a lovely new family.
