Vanessa, childcare in Woodthorpe NG5

Hello, I am a middle-aged (goodness me, sounds terrible just writing it!) Lady with 2 children, aged 5 and 9. My eldest has Dyslexia and so I stopped working to ensure he gets extra help at home. I am funny, very sporty and health conscious but also am a stickler for following the rules. I have friends kids at ours all the time and the also sleep over - sometimes for a week at a time.

We play outside whenever we can and I insist on team work and being a good sports person. We play rounds, cricket, racers or just a spot of gardening. Even sitting outside with a book is a good activity. I try get the kids involved in the cooking or baking and then include math problems or spelling.

I go to church, try to be a good example for my children as well as trying to get them to be the best they can be with the resources I have. I consider myself lucky to have my amazing family.

I love talking to kids and watching how they see the world around them.

I have done a Swimming Teacher Course as well as a councillor course.
