Leah, childcare - KA9 Prestwick

Hello, it is nice to meet you!

My name is Leah and I am 20 years old. I absolutely love working with children and young adults.

I am currently at the University of Glasgow studying to be a secondary school teacher (R.M.P.S to be specific). I have plenty of experience working one on one with children and young adults academically but also in more casual settings.

I have had various baby sitting jobs in the past. More to date I have taught a Primary 7 class at a Primary school in Ayr. There I also directed their school show where I worked with 120 pupils. I have also spent some time working at a secondary school in Ayr where I spent months creating and teaching active lessons for the RMPS and guidance department. I am also skilled in organising and taking children and young adults on trips.

I have in depth experience with taking care of children and young adults who have learning difficulties and mental illness. My little sister is rather high up on the Autistic spectrum and I have had the pleasure of working closely with numerous children throughout schools. I myself am dyslexic so understand various homework and school work battles that can go on within the home but due to my work experience I am good at tackling them.

I am a fun individual - always smiling and raring to go. I am also competent at doing any chores that need done around the home. I am resourceful and imaginative when it comes to spending time with children. I am an arts and crafts enthusiastic and enjoy baking. I also feel it is important to play outdoor games with children.

I'm aware that I have went on here about myself quite a lot!
