Martika, childcare - L34 Knowsley

My name is Martika (after the American singer song writer), I am 27 years of age born and living in the Kirkby area of Liverpool. I am looking to do part time childcare from 2:30pm onwards, weekends or babysitting as and when.

As a mature, caring, responsible, compassionate, outgoing and fun individual I feel that I make a positive contribution to a Childs day to day life.

Having looked after my 14 year old sister for many years since birth and currently looking after my 2 step-daughters part week who are aged 3 and 6, assisting with personal hygiene such as changing nappies, washing and assisting with toileting, dressing, preparing meals and snacks, doing the school run, ensuring their safety and wellbeing, assisting with homework, spending time with children is something i have always had a passion for.

As an adult children put their trust in us to guide them through life and make them feel safe, being a trustworthy and honest with excellent communication and listening skills children feel they can approach me with any issues they may be having, relying on me to take appropriate action. I believe that children bring lots of joy and laughter to our surroundings making us feel generally happier and I think it is important to give this back in return. I really enjoy engaging in fun activities ie. Going to the park, play areas, painting, colouring, playing games, watching their favourite televison programmes, sing alongs to their favourite songs and assisting them with reading books.

Throughout my work experiences I have worked with strict data protection guidelines which me understand the importance of confidentiality and to also respect others in a non-judgemental manner. I have the ability to work within fast paced environment and I show initiative when working individually and as part of a team. I can multi-task and also adapt to change.
