Isabelle, childcare - LS3 Leeds

Hello! I am Isabelle, a Canadian who was raised in Hong Kong.
I have 7-8 years of tutoring experience for which I have tutored privately for both primary and secondary years' students, mainly for English (ESL), Maths, Science and Chinese. Hence, I could help children with their homework (primary & secondary).

To be honest, I do not have a lot of experience babysitting children and teens because babysitting is not popular in my city. I currently live in Leeds as I am taking stand-alone modules at Leeds Beckett University to fulfil the entry requirement of MSc in Dietetics program which I am hoping to get into in Sept 2018. I believe working as a babysitter or a carer could benefit me in terms of learning how to care for children. After all, I enjoy working with children. I like to think myself as an observant, caring and attentive person.

I would prefer to work with children aged 4 or above, as I am not confident about taking care of infants and young children.

Regarding my 2 years of full time job experience, I was a teaching assistant at the University of Hong Kong, where I delivered tutorials for undergraduate students and graded their oral presentations and essay assignments etc.. I also used to be a research assistant which I helped develop the Geography secondary school curricula in Hong Kong. Additionally, as mentioned, for my part time jobs, I used to tutor privately, and I also taught 6-7 years kids swimming as a swimming teacher.

Regarding my previous education, I have an MSc in Environmental Science from Hong Kong University of Science & Technology and a BSc in Environmental studies from the University of York, UK.
