I am an energetic, caring and conscientious qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant, who has significant experience working with children of all ages, from infants to adolescents.
Upon completing my degree in Performing Arts, I volunteered in my local nursery, which shortly led to a paid position. I was required to support two individual children, both of whom had additional needs.
By nurturing their confidence through stimulating activities, musical games and learning through play, I was able to significantly encourage their development and progress. The parents of both children commented on the positive impact I had made on their child, as well as their overall family life.
Later in my career I qualified as an HLTA, and worked in a secondary school for two years supporting the English department. This was always my favourite academic subject at school, and again, I was able to use my calm, patient and approachable nature to create a safe and positive learning environment for children who required additional support, as well as mentoring a number of Gifted and Talented pupils in order for them to reach and exceed their full potential.
Having then taken time to travel, work and volunteer abroad for a number of years, I have recently returned to the UK to settle down with my fiancé in Northumberland, where I have dreamed of living ever since I was a child.
Most recently I have been working as a Teaching Assistant in a Special Needs school, which has allowed me to significantly build upon my existing skills.
I really enjoy working with children, having also regularly babysat for a number of families in the past in order to support my studies.
Therefore, I would now love the opportunity to offer my range of skills and experience as a childminder, who will also promote learning and creativity, to families in my local area.
