I have just graduated in Early Years and Special Education at NTU and am looking for some part time work to gain more experience whilst I decide what career path I would like to take.
I am passionate about creating safe spaces for children to learn and develop into the best version of themselves. I believe that children are capable and resilient and are able to thrive when given the right support. I am 22 years old and have always wanted to work with children, helping out with the younger age groups at my church Sunday school. This has led to me currently working two days a week in the Children's Department at my church, overseeing the 0-4s work. Throughout my degree (last 3 years) I have worked alongside my studying at a supermarket, this has expanded my ability to communicate with a variety of people and has benefited my time management skills as I haven't allowed work to stop me reaching university deadlines. I have experience working with a variety of children, including with those who have experienced Early Trauma or have SEND, specifically FASD and ASD.
As previously stated, I believe that children learn and develop best when they feel safe, I therefore take time to get to know children in my care, building trust with them. I think the outdoors and messy play are such fun ways to explore new concepts with children whilst allowing them the joy of play! I like to find the root of behaviours and to explore how a child is feeling as their holistic wellbeing is so important - especially after the craziness of Covid-19 that all children have experienced!
I would love to hear from you so please do not hesitate to get in contact with any questions that you may have!
