Kayleigh, childcare - PE1 Peterborough

My name is Kayleigh, and I am 19 years of age. I have my own transport so I am able to reach different areas fairly quickly. I am the eldest of three children, and helped to care for both my brother and my sister growing up and this is where my passion for caring for children came from. Also, I worked with a church in Sawtry village where I helped to set up and took control of activities for children which ranged from outside activities to colouring in and learning how to be friendly with each other. I took child development for a GCSE which I found educational and fun, while at school I worked at Alpha Kindergarten, in Orton, near to Big Sky play centre. I believe that to be a good childcarer you must understand how to recognise the child's needs as well as how to take safety precautions in and outside the home to ensure the safety of the child at all times. I think all children need time to play, time with their parent(s), and time to deal with cleanliness and hygienic issues. I like to make sure that when looking after children they are given educational and creative activities to do; and I like to think this helps to stimulate them, and help them learn better. I believe in one to one time to help children with the things they are struggling with like homework and to bond with them so that if there is a problem at school they could come to me for help.
