I am a 19 year old female who is starting a BA Hons in Eary Years Professional Practice to gain me my degree to become a primary school teacher or Family support worker.
I am originally from Birmingham but moved to Herefordshire when I was 6 years old.
I am a very friendly, bubbly, happy person who is willing to learn new skills and valuable experiences. I am approachable and welcoming and will be willing to help and support both children and parents.
I have a passion when it comes to working with children and have always wanted to experience the role of a nanny. My Diploma in Childcare entitles me to carry out this wonderful role.
I am a fast learner and understand the importance of close, strong relationships, healthy eating, physical activity and the importance of play which I have a great level of knowledge of.
I hold a full driving licence and would be willing to take the children to fun, stimulating and valuable places such as farms, play barns, parks and the woods. I feel that I am an outgoing and creative person who is not afraid to get messy and have fun because I think this is a main tool when it comes to children’s development.
I am willing to develop upon the relationship with the children during weekend and evenings if needed.
Previous work experiences:
I have previously worked at a restaurant/bistro as a waitress and kitchen staff for 5 and a half years and in a nursery setting for the past year during my gap year before University.
I feel that both of these recent jobs have allowed me to gain a lot of experience when working with new people which has provided me with the opportunity to create bonds and from relationships.
Both of the job roles developed my confidence and communication skills. This is something I will use within this job role to work to the best of my ability.
During my work within the nursery I worked in a baby room from the ages of 3 month until two years, showing that I have a great level of experience specifically for this age group. I enjoyed working with this age group due to the innocence and fascination around their developmental norms.
This job ensured that I provided a service of care for both parents and the children.
During high school, college and university I have been provided with the opportunity to attend different placements and settings to develop my understanding of each age group. This provided me with the valuable opportunity to work with children aged 3 month all the way until aged 10 (I have experienced all ages of children until the end of primary school).
From this I feel that I have a great understanding when it comes to being a helpful, happy, approachable person who others can rely on
Occasional babysitting | $6.50 per hour |
I used to work in a nursery at the hourly rate of £6.40 and I also work in a bistro at £5.00 an hour so I would like to be paid around these figures :)
