Dear Sir/Madam. I may only be 18, however I have been looking after children from as young as 5 months since I was the age of 14 as I have a large family and a close village network. I myself have a younger brother and sister and am the eldest of 7 cousins so I am very familiar with the level of individual attention you need to provide for each child's level of needs. I play the piano and various sports and love to share these with the children to get them involved and have a bit of fun. I am very comfortable with helping children with homework or other school needs in both primary and secondary school as I myself have just finish my A-levels and am pursuing an international politics degree at university after a year out. I know what it is like to grow up with other children in the house and know how frustrating it can be to battle for attention so it is important to me to give every child the individual attention they need to gain their confidence and enjoy themselves but also teach them that however much they may despise their siblings at times, they are family and family comes first so teamwork is also essential. My work experience in the preschool showed me all kinds of activities and games that children love so I'm not shy to keeping the children entertained. I once babysat for a family of 2 children (aged 4&8) where their puppy jumped up on one of them which made him fall and hit his head on the table. I dealt with it calmly and made sure both children were also calm whilst I cheerfully cleaned the cut and covered it correctly before phoning their mother and letting her know of the incident and watching the child closely for the rest of the evening. Funnily he had completely forgotten about the incident as soon as we got his favourite toy car out! I don't have any First Aid or official certificates however I am willing to complete any if the parents desire. I have a driving license and my own car and can do any hours needed so I am open to part-time, full-time or just occasional hours. If you have any enquiries please don't hesitate to contact me.
Occasional babysitting | $7.50 per hour |
I believe it is a huge responsibility to look after one's loved ones especially children and I do not think this role should be easily overlooked. I also grew up in a village where this rate was the going charge therefore have not asked for any different.
