Naomi, childcare provider in Beacon end

Hi I am Naomi ☺ I'm currently an International Relations student at the University of Essex but I'm originally from a Nigerian home based in London. I guess I should go through some more general information (that nobody asked for.) I am 22 years old. I have lived in 3 major cities so far in my life London, New York and Madrid. Some would say I have a fun personality. Well only those who also enjoy literature, documentaries, cooking, fashion and gigs would possibly say so.

I have just cone back from an 11 month work placement as firstly a Teaching Assistant in a reception classroom at King's College Madrid. During this time I was working with children aged 3 to 6 years old. I believe I really developed a strong rapport with the children here! I was support staff often for children who needed extra support with Phonics or had learning difficulties. Alongside that I lead focused educational activities every weekday such as educational role play. For example in groups of 6 children I would read books sich as Jack and the Beanstalk. We would then act out the story and finally do a practical activity, in this case we planted a bean to grow our own Beanstalk. I have a long list of such activities from my time working in education.

Secondly during the evenings I worked within a more pastoral environment as a Boarding House Intern. Once again here I built up a strong relationship with these students whilst living and working in the boarding house. These pupils were much older from The ages 11 to 18. My responsibilities ranged from administrative (managing paperwork, monitoring security in boarding house office) to being a mentor. The pupils would often come to the office just to talk to me or ask for advice. These were my favourite experiences whilst working there. The students were very sad to see me leave and I was sad to go.
