Maria, childcare provider - BN2 Brighton

Hello ,

I was born and raised in Oporto, north of Portugal where I finished a 3-year Acting Course.
During those 3 years I had the opportunity of working with great teachers and to experience much more than pure artistic classes: Circus, Tango, Contemporary Dance, Singing, Acting, Improvisation, Production, Psychology, IT, etc.
During my studies I worked in a theater in different positions such as ticket office, front house, booking tickets, greeting!

I was born in an amazing family who gave me the privilege of growing up in a loving and warm home where I learn the value of respecting and helping others.
Thanks to that I became a fun, passionate, enthusiastic, energetic, caring and outgoing person! My performing arts background helped me develop my social skills and to work under pressure which made me become a fast learner and to always look for a challenge.

A few months after turning 19 years-old I move out alone from Portugal with England as destination. I lived in London for almost two years and in the last month I moved to Brighton.

For the past nine months I have been working as a drama teacher/storyteller at Little Supernovas (you can find my profile on the website) with children from 0 to 8 years-old. Part of my responsibilities also involved administration work each included write the manuals for the new staff, training, contact new venues, phone calls, meetings.

My nanny experience started at church! From young age I used to be in charge of giving the biblical classes to the younger ones! Then I started taking care of my younger cousins overnight and during weekends.
In Brighton I spend my time taking care of four children, from 2 to 5 years old, in two different families.
I love drawing, coloring, parks, museums, theater, cooking ( I love cooking!), reading and that's what I usually do with the children!
