Hi there,

My name is Kirsty, I am 22 years old and for the past five and a half years I have worked with children of all ages from newborns to teenagers. For the past year and a half I have completed my SVQ 3 Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) at SCQF level 7 in a private nursery and for the two years previous to starting in nurseries I was a children's fitness co-ordinator at Micro Fitness. I am a very bubbly, outgoing and energetic person. I enjoy keeping fit by attending Zumba classes, jogging and going out walks.

In the nursery my job role is to ensure I put the children’s wellbeing first. I follow Pre-Birth to Three & Curriculum For Excellence when planning my week ahead. I also try to make learning as fun as possible as I feel children are more willing to try new things as they get bored of an activity very quickly. I also have to record everything that each child does and why it has been beneficial to them specifically. I love my job but for financial reasons I have to move on. I also have a six month old son.

At Micro Fitness I had the responsibility of risk assessing all equipment before taking it out to schools and also to make sure the correct equipment was in the correct van. I had my classes organized and suitable for the age group I was had that day. I also spent several months in the office helping with promoting the business. I enjoyed this job but I felt I wasn't really aiding the children's development as most sessions were a one off. Whilst employed by Micro Fitness we attended a club called Happy Club and this is a club for children with autism and ADHD which I still help out at when I can.

If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch.
I hope to hear from you soon.

Kind Regards
Kirsty
